Biomass harvesting deals with different technologies bought from manufacturers for biomass harvesting. The choice results from the preliminary technical study aiming at identifying relevant technologies for microalgae harvesting.
As a reference, centrifuges are planned for the harvesting of the extensive production systems (10-20m3/j). They are completed with other state-of-the art or more innovative technologies with lower energy consumption.
Biomass refinery and oil recovery mainly concerns existing equipments from manufacturers (cell grinding, liquid-liquid and liquid-solid extractors). It will allow working on dry, concentrated and wet biomass. For concentrated or wet biomass, cells disrupting technics will be applied in combination with fractioning/separating processes for intracellular compounds recovery.
